A fall centerpiece is a perfect arrangement to use some dried wheat, millet or pampas grass.  The lovely golden color adds a distinct contrast.  Take care though, as the stems have to be gently worked into the foam.  Dried flowers do have a brittleness to them.

The long stem has a lovely curve that fits nicely into the end design.

I did choose one of the straighter ones for a center insertion on the top.

I used used artificial thistle in light yellow, but the natural blue thistle  would be lovely in the piece too.

Cut and insert randomly, in between the flowers already inserted.

Point some pieces straight out, and the end pieces should tilt a little upward.

Here's a view from the top of the centerpiece.
