Salal leaves twist on the main stem, making the leaves face in awkward position.
I simply use a common office stapler to make sure the leaves stay in place. It's less messy than glue.
The single staple is easily hidden by the rose head.
Pinch or trim off any leaves you don't want on the stem. I don't want an excessive amount of leaves, because I don't want to overpower the rose.
Two leaves is plenty to tuck up close under the rose head.
