Wedding Boutonnieres

Even simple wedding boutonnieres can stand out simply by using creative greenery.  A single white rose is backed with galax and variegated lily blade.  To make a similar lapel flower, you'll need:

• 1 White Rose
• 24 Gauge Florist Wire
• 1 White Dendrobium Orchid
• 1 Galax Leaf
• 1 Variegated Lily Grass Blade
• Green Stem Wrap
• Finishing Touch or Crowning Glory Flower Sealant
• Corsage Pins or BoutStix Magnet

You need a lightweight wire to use on delicate blooms like dendrobiums.  Wire both the rose and dendrobium.  Place the Galax leaf behind both, taping it in place.  Wrap the variegated blade of grass up the stem, tucking under both the rose and orchid head and coming out in opposite side as an accent. If necessary to keep in place, use a dab of Oasis Floral Adhesive.
