Oasis Netted Spheres
Why are florist foam balls enclosed in a netted bag? Because the foam needs support. In the "old days", florists used to wrap the round wet foam sphere in waterproof tape, knowing that the weight of flowers can cause the foam to crumble.
With the Oasis Netted Sphere, however, this lightweight webbed bag is very strong - yet lightweight. It provides great support and enables the designer to ties on ribbons, jewels and other design elements.
The spheres are available in different sizes and are perfect for wedding work.
Standing Spheres take about 2/3 the flowers listed below for a flattened bottomed sphere.
- 3" Sphere - approx 25 carnations or roses (3x for button mum heads)
- 4 1/2" Sphere - approx 50 carnations or roses
- 6" Sphere - approx 75 carnations or roses
- 8" Sphere - approx 120 carnations or roses(size of basketball)
- 12" Sphere - approximately 226 carnations or roses
Please note that these are estimates. Total flowers needed always depends on the actual size of the flower heads used.
