A mixture of greenery will give even the simplest centerpiece a better look because of different textures, shapes and colors.

Israeli ruscus has broader leaves than it's close relative of Italian ruscus.  Both have long laterals that work well for tall florals, but can be cut shorter for lower centerpieces.

Even just a few pieces give a nice contrasting look to the leather leaf fern.

You can cut one single long piece into shorter pieces consisting of two to three leaves each.

This allows you to get a lot of mileage out of one single bunch of ruscus.
